Convert Your Car To Electric

I finally decided to give one of those online e-books a try. You know, the ones that promise that you can build a nuclear reactor in you back yard using spare parts from the junkyard. Like most people, I'm a little curious, but more than a little skeptical. But what the heck, if it comes with a guarantee, why not try it. So I did...

I decided to try Les Oke's Convert-2-EV website that claims you can do an ELECTRIC VEHICLE conversion yourself for hundreds rather than thousands of $$$.
The payment process was pretty painless, and before I knew it I had access to the e-book. The nice thing was I got four other books on renewable energy topics, such as DIY solar panels, Biodiesel and wind turbine energy. (I'll talk about those later). The book has a very simple, easy-to-read format, and while it is relatively short compared to other books, it does give you the basics that you need to know to go forward. The author gives tips on things like how to get free batteries, but if you go that route, you've got to realize that your batteries aren't going to be as dependable. Overall, it's not a bad starting point for someone who is mechanically inclined and wants to get their feet wet. But if you really want to get into the details of design and end up with a quality conversion, you'll want to get some other resources as well, such as the other ones reviewed on this site. By itself, it's a little on the pricey side for what you get, but with the other books bundled together I'd say its a decent value.
